America’s Multi-Cultures Projects teach how
America became a land of multi-cultures, and how
immigration and becoming a U.S. citizen take
place. Students will gain awareness of America’s
many ethnic groups, as well as added pride in their
own heritage. Information about the Statue of
Liberty, Ellis Island, and how to research one’s family
history is given. |
Communities is written on a third grade reading
level. Communities Projects teach what makes-up
a community and why people live in communities.
Students learn how water, land, and latitude help
create different types of communities. Skills are
developed for reading map symbols, map keys,
time-lines, grids, distance scales, and direction
finders. Students work with World, U.S.A. and Community maps. Washington, D.C. is highlighted.
